I locked Alessio away for this one because this blog isn't about him or his book. This one is about my adventure the past week. Namely, travelling across the country for my youngest brother's wedding. Which of course is an emotional and stressful time for everyone. I remember with my wedding just how worried i was about everything. And wanting everything to be perfect. Of course, there are always bumps in the road, but in the end, the whole point is to marry the person you love.
Stressful Getting Out There
Trying to get out to the province (I'm Canadian) via plane is always stressful here. Between getting to the airports and then actually getting on the plane, it's a test of patience. I'm big on remembering that anyone in this industry gets a lot of flak and people screaming at them, and I know it's not their fault. So despite getting delayed four times, I still had a fine time getting there. A few people were unhappy but I ignored them.
Though it also might have to do with the fact that I got upgraded to a very nice seat that made me so happy and good natured. Ha!
Anyway, I ended up sitting in the airport for close to four hours before we finally boarded, but once we were on our way, it was a direct flight so I didn't have to worry about any connections. When I got to my destination I thankfully had my brother and father waiting for me. Then we were off and heading for my hotel.
By the time I got to the hotel and into my room, it was 2:00am, and by the time I got settled and into bed, it was about 2:30am. So yeah, I was exhausted. Then I had to get up at 8:00am for a family breakfast.
Wedding Prep
I landed on Sunday AM, and my brother and his soon to be wife got married on the Monday. Yes, I know a Monday wedding isn't the norm, but it was actually nice because it was a small wedding and a lot of fun.
After the breakfast, I went back to my hotel and got a bit more sleep before I got up and headed to see my other brother and his family. Where I met the newest fur baby of their family, Wilson. He's a miniature daschaund, and the cutest little guy. He's about 3-4 months old now and just so sweet.
Then we headed off about 45 minutes away for the wedding rehearsal and dinner at my new sister-in-law's family's house. And OH MY GOD their house! It was my dream house, minus a library space. But the kitchen, the lot, the laundry room, everything was exactly as I would have designed it. It was amazing, and yes, I was jealous. I'm afraid I didn't get any pictures of it, but I found a picture of a kitchen that looks close like it.

Wedding Day
Now that the wedding day was here, it was busy. I had to get up early and get myself ready to go, then head off to pick up my aunt to take her to get her hair and make-up done. And I got mine done as well. And I think it turned out great. What about you?
Then it was time to finish getting dressed and head out to the wedding venue. This was my dress, and I really liked it. And I wore shorts underneath since it was going to be so hot and it was great for my thighs, honestly. Thicker thighs and all that, and it felt great not to go home all chaffed and sore. What do you think of the dress?
Off to the wedding we went and the venue they picked was gorgeous. It overlooked a lake, and I can't wait for the pictures. The wedding was small, only 50 people, and the whole place was wonderful. No one was cramped, and things were intimate.
Finally, my brother and sister-in-law were married, and the ceremony was very special. I won't be sharing any photos of them on here since they haven't posted any photos online yet of them at the wedding so to respect that, I'm only sharing these photos where there are no faces. Just know that my sister -in-law looked AMAZING and my brother didn't look too shabby himself.
The rest of the night was dinner, speeches, a couple games, and lots of dancing. It was a fun time and by the time night was done I was ready to sleep. And I did manage to get a few hours, but then I was up early and getting ready to fly home.
Flying Home
I had to fly home late on Tuesday, so really it was only a flying trip out, but it was wonderful to see my brothers, their wives, and my nieces. I miss them already and I've only been home a couple of days. The flight home was long with lots of delays, but I'm back and ready to get back to work.
So it's been a busy week for me, but also a very good one. Now I'm getting ready for HE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED's book. So to close out this post, I'll share a couple of things from my wedding, including my dress which was a bit different. Until next time, have a great weekend and a great week!
*PS-My husband does not want his face out there, so I'm covering it.
